Now in it’s 18th season in the VCT lineup, this unique Brazilian coffee is a curated selection of natural and pulp natural Mundo Novo, Yellow Catuai, Red Catuai, and Icatu varieties from some of Brazil’s best growing regions. Brazil Prima Qualita 2020 Crop
The cup is the proud achievement of the Guaxape Cooperative and their expert cuppers, who choose the best of the best lots to represent this crowning achievement of Brazilian production. Make no mistake, the Prima Qualita is a stand-out single-origin coffee, cultivated to make an impression at both the cupping table and espresso bar.
Predominantly grown by small farm holders and even partially handpicked, the Prima Qualita is comprised of three distinct portions of different varieties from three different regions—a Cerrado portion from southern Minas Gerais that is low in acid with a nice sweetness, a second portion from Minas with very good acid, and an Otimo (or excellent) portion of pulp natural that imparts a distinct orangey-citrus note and added acidity.
When cupping you immediately notice a fantastic apricot, orangey aroma. After a slurp, it’s heavy body, light acid and tangerine-orange notes mixed with apricot and a touch of cashew nut will have you scoring this Brazilian coffee on a whole other level!
