Our Ethiopia Washed Sidamo is a bourbon variety that comes from the Sidamo district, located in the southern portion of Ethiopia. Sidamo coffees are among the most famous in the world, and this Ethiopia Washed Sidamo cups with bright, citrusy acid, medium body and an almost tea-like finish.
As with the washed Limu coffees, the washed process helps diffuse the wildness of Ethiopian coffee profiles. The Ethiopia Washed Sidamo makes an excellent pour over and cold brew coffee; there is something about the citrus like acidity that pairs well with these brewing methods.
Coffee is Ethiopia’s largest cash crop and 98% of coffee is grown by small farmers on less than a hectare (100 meters x 100 meters).
