2024 Honduras Kingdom Growers
Back for another season, our new lot of 2024 Kingdom Growers coffee represents some of the best specialty grade arabica offered from the nation of Honduras. Once a relatively small Central American coffee producer, Honduras has grown by leaps and bounds over the past few decades to the point now where their export volume rivals that of some the largest producers in the Americas.
Speaking plainly, it is the hard working producers and their farming and processing teams at cooperatives like Kingdom Growers who deserve the credit. The creation of a high quality final product, the cup itself, is not an easy won prize. Rather it is with dedication, time, skill, hard labor and attention to detail the result is there for all to see.
2024 Kingdom Growers Notes: Orange blossom aroma. Notes of lemony-citrus and tangerine with a hint of toasted almond and brown sugar. Medium body and acidity.
Not far outside of Siguatepeque you’ll find the fertile slopes of the Montecillos Mountain Range. It is here that a cooperative of around 200 small farm holders, collectively known as Kingdom Growers, or rather “Cultivadores del Reino” share in the mission to produce sustainable coffees as a community. The individual family farms range from 1 – 12 acres at elevations between 4,000 and 5,200 feet, achieving a SHG, or Strictly High Grown grade designation. You’ll find a number of varieties being grown here that include Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra, Pacas, and Typica. The lots are handpicked and centrally processed to ensure ideal cup quality.
