We’re rolling out a different kind of red carpet for these two fan favorite VCT offerings. No award ceremony and long speeches, just a couple of great quality, sustainably sourced, specialty-grade coffees to perk you up! Both of our 2026 Costa Rica Tarrazu Puma & El Tigre coffees are produced by the same multi-generation growers that we’ve been working with for over ten years now.
2026 Costa Rica Exclusives: Tarrazu Puma & El Tigre
The Puma has a bit more sharp acidity when compared with many other Costa Rican regions. This particular offering is sourced from mineral-rich, volcanic soil at good elevations: 3,000 – 5,000 feet. It’s also worth noting that the small estate producers are responsible both for cultivation and milling.
Costa Rica Tarrazu Puma

2026 marks the 12th year of production for the Tarrazu Puma. Each year the cup is slightly different, but the quality has consistently improved. You’ll find it to have very good balance with a bright aroma and fruity notes in the cup.
Costa Rica Tarrazu Puma Notes:Toasted almond aroma. Notes of tangerine, orange blossom, bakers chocolate and slight vanilla. Medium body and acidity.
Costa Rica El Tigre

El Tigre travels to the USA by way of the volcanic mountain ranges of Heredia and Barva. The region is stunning. It’s also where many of Central America’s most sought-after coffees are sourced. El Tigre is washed and wet milled on site at the family’s private mill in Barva, and either sun dried or mechanically dried depending on weather and precipitation. The beans are stored in parchment until the exact time it’s ready to ship, preserving the bean’s moisture content and acidity.
Costa Rica El Tigre Notes:Toasted almond aroma. Notes of lemon, grapefruit, milk chocolate and brown sugar. Good acidity and bright body.
If you’re new to browsing our news section, be sure to check back. Spring and summer are typically the time of year where we’re getting some great new stuff in stock. Once we’ve cupped and vetted them at VCT HQ and if they make the grade they’ll be sure to show up here sooner than later!
Happy Roasting,
